AIT BEN HADDOU

Aït Benhaddou, an ighrem (fortified village), sits along the historic caravan route linking the Sahara to Marrakech in present-day Morocco. While most residents have moved to modern homes in a nearby village due to the tourist trade, four families continue to live in the ancient village.
